Exhibition poster “Corporal Identity: 9th Triennial for Form and Content – USA and Germany”
Uwe Loesch; Druck- und Verlagshaus Zarbock GmbH & Co. KG
2003
Together with the works of Gunter Rambow, Almir Mavignier, Günther Kieser, and Sandra Doeller, posters by graphic designer Uwe Loesch are among the outstanding objects in the Museum Angewandte Kunst’s extensive poster collection. The focus of the collection is on posters with cultural advertising, including the work shown here.
Uwe Loesch designed the exhibition poster for the 9th Triennial for Form and Content—a unique exhibition format initiated by the Museum Angewandte Kunst to explore the potential of contemporary arts and crafts. The Triennial was curated by Dr. Sabine Runde from 1996 to 2022 and took place a total of ten times between 1978 and 2012.
The 9th Triennial was held in 2003 in cooperation with the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach am Main. It engaged with ideas of “corporal identity.” The poster’s motif is a typographic, seemingly transparent spatial body that rotates on its own axis and creates the impression of leafing through a book.
