Antiphonary
1530 - 1545
The manuscript contains antiphons and responsories for specific days and their saints or feasts in the calendrical sequence of the ecclesiastical year. Depending on their importance, sections of the text are decorated with inhabited initials, whereby the letters are in gold and composed of branches. The paintings display the customary style of sixteenth century Bavarian manuscripts.
The brown calfskin binding contains a depiction of Christ at the Well on the front cover. The back depicts the crucifixion of Christ between symbols of the evangelists and two angels bearing a cross and collumn.
