Page from an antiphonary with decorated initial
Beginning 14th century
The sheet was taken from an antiphonary. The painted F initial opens the responsory: “Fulget decus ecclesie novo clarum prodigio lucerna splendet hodie diu latens sub modio quam odore rex glorie revelavit eximio alleluia—The glory of the church shines, today the light radiates in a new miraculous sign, held hidden by the divine hand, which the King has revealed in his extraordinary glory.“ The church is represented by the consecration of the altar, which the bishop celebrates between administrating monks with holy water bowl and book.
