Page from a book of hours
End 15th century
The page from a Book of Hours once opened the Penitential Psalms. It illustrates them with David’s confession of sin before the prophet Nathan (2 Samuel 12). In addition, three Tondi in the border depict David and Goliath, Pyramus and Thisbe, as well as the Last Judgement, in the context of the penitence. The style of the figures as well as the borders indicate northern France, maybe Rouen.
